They saw neither the sons of Danu nor the Daityas in battle; / all the gods, bewildered, saw only the standard. (11) / Whatever unfailing weapons the gods hurled / were completely covered by the wind of the standard's shadow. (12) / In front, behind, on both sides, and above, / they saw only the standard, not the Daityas nor the Dānavas. (13) / Sharp arrows, blazing like tongues of fire, / issuing from the standard, Vyāsa, tore apart the best of the gods. (14)
