Then, as the Asuras entered the ocean and were slain by the followers of Śaṅkara, / Andhaka held back all the Pramathas, as an ocean of abundant waters checks rivers.
Then Andhaka pierced Nandin with twelve [arrows], and the fire-born [Skanda] with five; / the Dānava struck Viśākha and Śākha with ten, and Naigameṣa with a hundred.
He pierced Vīrabhadra and Viṭpati, and the radiant Piṅgala, best of Yakṣas, / with arrows adorned with gold, just as an elephant driver goads an elephant with the points of an ankuśa.
There was no one, whether in front or behind, neither horse nor elephant nor any other Pramatha, / who did not receive the arrows shot by Andhaka, resembling blazing cosmic fire and the sun.
Pierced repeatedly like sandalwood trees on their arms, bellies, chests, and heads, / the delighters of their foes stood motionless, like elephants trapped in a cage.
Then lion-roars were raised by the Asuras, fierce with the sounds of conches, hundreds of kettle-drums, and dundubhis; / and again a terrifying battle broke out between the lords of the Gaṇas and the lords of the Dānavas.
Thus ends the one hundred and fiftieth chapter in the Skandapurāṇa, in the battle of the Gaṇas, on the curse of the Asuras.
