"O gods, this prostration of yours is not greater to me [than my duty];
Śambhu's command is superior; there is no entrance whatsoever.
When forbidden, O Brahmā, and appointed for protection,
how can we grant entrance, having transgressed the command of Īśa?"
Having heard those words of that great-souled lord of the gaṇas,
Brahmā went aside, filled with utter shame.
