sṛṣṭo'haṃ pretarājaste devadeva jagatpate
kiṃ karomi mahābāho tvaṃ vai dīnārtanāśanaḥ

I was created by you as king of the ghosts, O god of gods, O lord of the universe; / what shall I do, O mighty-armed one? You are indeed the destroyer of the afflicted and wretched.”
