mahadādyaṇuparyantamāyācitrasya sarvadā
atha pārāśaropapurāṇam
bhittibhūtāya rudrāya namaḥ saṃsārahāriṇe
To Rudra, who is always the wall-canvas for the picture of māyā extending from the cosmic intellect (mahad) to the atom, / [Now begins the Parāśaropapurāṇa], / the remover of saṃsāra—homage!
