viṣṇuruvāca -- maivaṃ vidhe yadajñātvā paraṃ bhāvaṃ maheśvare
astīti nānyathā'haṃ te bravīmi kamalāsana

Viṣṇu said: / 'Not so, O Ordainer, since, not knowing the supreme nature of Maheśvara, / you say that [he does not exist]. I do not speak falsely to you, O lotus-seated one.
