prāṇānnayati yattasmātpraṇavaḥ paribhāṣitaḥ
sarvaṃ vyāpnoti yattasmātsarvavyāpī sanātanaḥ

Because he leads forth (praṇayati) the vital breaths, he is defined as the praṇava. / Because he pervades everything, he is the all-pervading, the eternal.
