yattārayati saṃsārāttāra ityabhidhīyate
sūkṣmo bhūtvā śarīrāṇi sarvadā hyadhitiṣṭhati
Because he carries [beings] across (tārayati) the cycle of rebirth, he is called the savior (tāra). / Having become subtle, he constantly abides within bodies.
