cāndrāyaṇāni catvāri pañca vā kathitāni vai
mātulasya sutāṃ gatvā sakhibhāryāṃ tathaiva ca
As long as the eclipse of the sun or moon lasts, one should perform recitation and other rites;
one should not sleep nor eat; having bathed, one should eat upon their release.
