śivasya purato bhaktyā saṃmāpte dakṣiṇāyane
candrasya grahaṇe vā'tha bhānorapi ca suvratāḥ

with devotion before Śiva, at the end of the southern course of the sun, / or at an eclipse of the moon or of the sun, O men of good vows;
