mṛtaṃ jāmātaraṃ śrutvā līlāvatyāḥ pitā tadā |
tatrājagāma tvarito dauhitrapriyakāmyayā ||

He was the father of Lîlâvatî; on hearing the demise of his son-in-law he came there, so that his daughter’s son might get the kingdom.
