samājagmuśca sāmantāḥ sasainyāḥ kleśatatparāḥ |
vigrahañcābhikāṅkṣantaḥ parasparamatandritāḥ ||

Hundreds of tributary princes wanting that the two kings might be involved into quarrels with each other, came to the spot, with their soldiers, though they had to undergo great hardships in doing so.
