evaṃ vai vartamānasya nṛpasya kurusattama |
dve patnyau rūpasampanne hyāsatuḥ kāmabhogade ||

O host of Kurus! Thus ruling virtuously, the king had two wives, both of them young, fair and beautiful and well able to give delights and enjoyments to the king.
