jīvamāno'tha bhartā vai kaikeyyā nṛpabhāryayā |
rāmaḥ pravrājito jyeṣṭho mṛto daśaratho nṛpaḥ ||

The husband was alive, and still his queen Kaikeyi banished the eldest son of his king, S’rî Râmchandra to the forest; and the king Das’aratha sacrificed his life for that very reason.
