na vaśe me sutā bālā mriyate yadi kheditā |
tadā me syānmahadduḥkhaṃ tena cintāturo'smyaham ||
My daughter is as yet a girl; if I chastise her, she may commit suicide; and I will be exceedingly sorry; therefore I am very much distressed with this thought.
