atha śrīmanmaudgalapurāṇaprārambhaḥ |
dhyāye sthireṇa cittena gaṇeśaṃ sarvasiddhidam |
buddhiprakāśakaṃ pūrṇaṃ yogināṃ hṛdi saṃsthitam ||

Now begins the glorious Maudgalapurāṇa:
With a steady mind I meditate on Gaṇeśa, the bestower of all perfections,
the illuminator of the intellect, complete, dwelling in the hearts of yogins.
