nārāyaṇāvatāro yaḥ sākṣānnārāyaṇaḥ svayam |
vedasya bhāgakārī sa purāṇānāṃ vibhāgakṛt ||
he who is an incarnation of Nārāyaṇa, manifestly Nārāyaṇa himself,
the divider of the Veda and the classifier of the purāṇas.
