mudgala uvāca |
śṛṇu dakṣa purāvṛttamitihāsaṃ vadāmi tam |
pāpapraśamanaṃ pūrṇaṃ bhuktimuktiphalapradam ||

Mudgala said: / Listen, Dakṣa, to the ancient event; I shall tell that history, / which completely pacifies sin and grants the fruit of enjoyment and liberation.
