paṭhedvā bhavitā tasya sarvasiddhirna saṃśayaḥ ||
Whatever excellent person listens to or recites this greatness of Datta, / all perfection will be his, without doubt.

oṃ tatsaditi śrīmadāntye purāṇopaniṣadi śrīmanmaudgale mahāpurāṇe dvitīye khaṇḍe ekadantacarite dattacaritaṃ nāmā'ṣṭamo'dhyāyaḥ ||
Om tat sat. Thus ends the eighth chapter, named 'The Life of Datta,' in the deeds of Ekadanta, in the second section of the glorious Maudgala Mahāpurāṇa, an Upaniṣad of the Purāṇas.
