yajñādibhirṛṇaṃ daivaṃ śrāddhādyaiścaiva paitṛkam |
putrotpādanamārgeṇa mānuṣyaṃ nāśameṣyati ||
Through sacrifices and the like, the debt to the gods [is paid]; through śrāddhas and the like, that to the ancestors; / and through the path of procreating sons, the human [debt] will meet its end.
