amāyāṃ candracihnena jñāyate nānyathā kvacit |
snānārthaṃ māsamāhātmyaṃ pūrṇimāyāṃ viśeṣataḥ ||
On the new-moon day it is known by the sign of the moon, never otherwise; / for bathing, the greatness of the month [is observed] especially on the full-moon day.
