sa āśvinyāṃ dvitīyāyāṃ śuklāyāṃ tu gṛhe gataḥ |
tasmin māse caturthyāṃ ca śuklāyāṃ vratamārabhat ||
He returned home on the second day of the bright fortnight of the month of Āśvina; / and on the fourth day of the bright fortnight in that month, he began the observance.
