evaṃ kāmaṃ nigṛhyaiva svavaśaṃ taṃ cakāra ha |
vikaṭastat samākhyātaṃ kiṃ bhūyaḥ śrotumicchatha ||
Thus having restrained desire, he brought it under his own control, / Vikaṭa did; that has been told. What more do you wish to hear?

oṃ tatsaditi śrīmadāntye purāṇopaniṣadi śrīmanmaudgale mahāpurāṇe ṣaṣṭhe khaṇḍe vikaṭacarite vikaṭāvatāracaritasamāptivarṇanaṃ nāma ṣaṭtriṃśattamo'dhyāyaḥ ||
Oṃ tat sat. Thus ends the thirty-sixth chapter, entitled 'The Description of the Conclusion of the Deeds of the Incarnation of Vikaṭa', in the story of Vikaṭa, in the sixth section of the glorious Maudgala Mahāpurāṇa, the ultimate Purāṇa-Upaniṣad.
