mārgaśīrṣavratasyaiva māhātmyaṃ leśato mayā |
kathitaṃ kiṃ punaḥ śrotumicchasi munisattama ||
The greatness of the Mārgaśīrṣa observance has been related by me
only in part. What further do you wish to hear, O best of sages?

oṃ tatsaditi śrīmadāntye purāṇopaniṣadi śrīmanmaudgale mahāpurāṇe aṣṭame khaṇḍe dhūmravarṇacarite mārgaśīrṣamāsamāhātmyasādhucaritavarṇanaṃ nāma caturviṃśo'dhyāyaḥ ||
