palāyanaparaḥ sarvaiḥ svagṛhaṃ daityanāyakaḥ |
āgatya svaguruṃ tatra samānāyyābravīdvacaḥ ||
Intent on flight along with all his followers, the Daitya leader went to his own palace; / having summoned his guru there, he addressed [these] words [to him].

oṃ tatsaditi śrīmadāntye purāṇopaniṣadi śrīmanmaudgale mahāpurāṇe aṣṭame khaṇḍe dhūmravarṇacarite ahaṅkāraparājayo nāma pañcamo'dhyāyaḥ ||
Om tat sat. Thus ends the fifth chapter, named 'The Defeat of Ahaṅkāra', in the Dhūmravarṇacarita of the eighth section of the venerable and ultimate Purāṇa-Upaniṣad, the glorious Maudgala Mahāpurāṇa.
