varṣāṇāṃ tu sahasraṃ vai vasamānā piturgṛhe
bhartuḥ samīpaṃ yāhīti pitroktā sā punaḥ punaḥ
during his southward course, the rays of the Sun diminish. / In this way the thousand rays accomplish the welfare of the world of the Sun.
