viśvāmitro jamadagniśca saptaite ṛṣayaḥ smṛtāḥ
ataḥ paraṃ pravakṣyāmi maruto bhīmān pitṝn grahān
As he arrived, the foremost [beings] said to him: "O lord of the gods, why do you wander constantly?" / He said to them: "To be freed from sin, I wander through sacred shrines and abodes of the gods."
