ekārṇave purā tasminnaṣṭe sthāvarajaṅgame
nārāyaṇākhyaḥ puruṣaḥ suṣvāpa salile tadā

Just as a single lamp gives rise to thousands of lamps, / even so he, being one, brings forth thousands of forms.
