salilenāplutāṃ bhūmiṃ dṛṣṭvā kāryaṃ vicintya saḥ
bhūtvā vai sa tu vārāhaḥ apaḥ sa viśate prabhuḥ
From him the unmanifest, having the three qualities, was produced, O best of the twice-born; / that which abides in the state of the unmanifest and manifest is called Prakṛti.
