dakṣiṇopakrame tasya hasante sūryaraśmayaḥ
evaṃ raśmisahasraṃ tat sūryalokārthasādhakam
he is the thousand-headed Person; three are the states of the self-born one: / sattva and rajas in the state of Brahmā, and in the state of Time, rajas and tamas.
