jyotiś cāpi vikurvāṇaṃ rasamātraṃ sasarja ha
saṃbhavanti tato 'mbhāṃsi rasādhārāṇi tāni tu //
And light, undergoing transformation, produced the subtle element of taste;
thence arose the waters, which are the receptacles of taste.
