brahmasvarūpam āsthāya svayam eva vyavasthitaḥ
merur ulbam abhūt tasya jarāyuś ca mahīdharāḥ
garbhodakaṃ samudrāś ca tasyābhūvan mahātmanaḥ //
assuming the form of Brahmā, established Himself.
Mount Meru became its inner membrane, and the mountains the placenta;
the oceans became the amniotic waters of that great-souled one.
