caturyugānāṃ saṃkhyā ca sādhikā hy ekasaptatiḥ
manvantaraṃ manoḥ kālaḥ śakrādīnām api dvija //
Seventy-one cycles of four ages, with a fraction remaining,
is a manvantara, the time of a Manu and of Śakra and the others, O twice-born.
