tasyānte 'bhūn mahān kalpo brāhma ity abhiviśrutaḥ
yasmin matsyāvatāro 'bhūn mathanaṃ ca mahodadheḥ //
At its end occurred the great cosmic age known as the Brāhma [Kalpa], / in which took place the Fish incarnation and the churning of the great ocean.
