sṛṣṭikāle mahābhāgau brahman svāyaṃbhuvodgatau
śatarūpāṃ ca sṛṣṭvā tu kanyāṃ sa manave dadau //
At the time of creation, O twice-born, these two most fortunate ones arose from the Self-born; / and having created the maiden Śatarūpā, he gave her to Manu.
