viṣṇunaivoditaṃ yat tat stotraṃ karṇe mahātmanaḥ
subhāṣitena manasā tena tuṣṭāva mādhavam //
With the hymn that had been spoken into the ear of the noble one by Viṣṇu himself, / with a mind full of elegant speech, he praised Mādhava.
