itīdam uktaṃ yamavākyam uttamaṃ mayādhunā te haribhaktivardhanam
punaḥ pravakṣyāmi purātanīṃ kathāṃ bhṛgos tu pautreṇa ca yā purā kṛtā //
Thus this supreme utterance of Yama, which increases devotion to Hari, has now been told to you by me; / I shall recount again the ancient story which was enacted of old by the grandson of Bhṛgu.
