tāṃ vedagarbhāṃ vikhyātāṃ vibudhaughābhivanditām /
vada me tvaṃ mahāprājña tīrthapūgapariṣkṛtām //
Tell me, O greatly wise one, about that famous [river] carrying the Vedas within her,
venerated by the host of gods, adorned with a multitude of pilgrimage places.
