ūcuḥ prāñjalayaḥ sarve sīdayāmo mahāmune /
saritsāgaraśailāntaṃ jagatsaṃśuṣyate dvija //
and with folded hands they all said: “We are suffering, O great sage! / The world, up to its rivers, oceans, and mountains, is drying up, O twice-born one.
