amṛtaṃ brāhmaṇasyānnaṃ kṣatriyānnaṃ payaḥ smṛtam /
vaiśyānnam annameva syācchūdrānnaṃ rudhiraṃ smṛtam //
The food of a Brāhmaṇa is considered nectar; the food of a Kṣatriya is milk; / the food of a Vaiśya is mere food; the food of a Śūdra is considered blood.
