yudhiṣṭhira uvāca:
skandasya caritaṃ sarvamājanma dvijasattama /
tīrthasya ca vidhiṃ puṇyaṃ kathayasva yathārthataḥ //
Yudhiṣṭhira said: / Tell [me] truly, O best of the twice-born, the entire story of Skanda from his birth, / and the sacred rule for the pilgrimage place.
