akṛṣṇaḥ kṛṣṇatām amba kathaṃ gaccheddhayottamaḥ /
dāsatvaṃ prāpsyase tvaṃ hi paṇenānena suvrate //
‘How could that best of horses, which is not black, become black, mother? / You will certainly incur servitude by this wager, O lady of noble vows!’
