etacchrutvā tu vacanaṃ ghoraṃ mātṛmukhodbhavam /
kecitpraviṣṭā romāṇi tathānye girisaṃsthitāḥ //

Hearing this terrible word emerging from their mother's mouth, / some entered the hairs, while others stayed on the mountains;
