ekaścāyaṃ mahābāhurvāsukirbhujagottamaḥ /
mama pārśve vasennityaṃ sarveṣāṃ bhayarakṣakaḥ //

The god of gods said: / ‘This mighty-armed Vāsuki alone, the best among snakes, / the protector of all from fear, may dwell constantly at my side.
