śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
tato gacchenmahīpāla paraṃ tīrthacatuṣṭayam /
yeṣāṃ darśanamātreṇa sarvapāpakṣayo bhavet //

Glorious Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Then, O protector of the earth, one should go to the supreme four pilgrimage places, / by merely seeing which the destruction of all sins occurs:
