śrīdevyuvāca:
nāhaṃ deva jagaccaitatsaṃharāmi mahādyute /
ambā bhūtvā viceṣṭaṃ na bhakṣayāmi bhṛśāturam //
The goddess said: / "I will not dissolve this world, O God of great splendor! / Having become a mother, I will not devour that which is helpless and greatly distressed.
