vyāptam āsīt tadā viśvaṃ trailokyaṃ sacarācaram /
saṃpatadbhiḥ patadbhiśca jvaladbhūtagaṇairmahī //
The entire universe, the three worlds with their moving and unmoving beings, was pervaded then; / the earth [was covered] with flaming hosts of spirits rushing together and falling.
