śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
tato gacchenmahārāja dvādaśītīrthamuttamam /
kṣaranti sarvadānāni japahomabalikriyāḥ //

The venerable Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Then, O great king, one should go to the excellent Dvādaśītīrtha. / All gifts, silent prayers, oblations, and offerings of food are perishable;
