śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
narmadādakṣiṇe kūle tīrthaṃ kalakaleśvaram /
vikhyātaṃ sarvalokeṣu svayaṃ devena nirmitam //

Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya said:
On the southern bank of the Narmadā is the pilgrimage place Kalakaleśvara,
famous in all the worlds, fashioned by the god himself.
