śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
ikṣvākuprabhavo rājā naptā śuddhodanasya ca /
cāṇakyo nāma rājarṣir bubhuje pṛthivīmimām //

Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya said:
A king descended from Ikṣvāku, the grandson of Śuddhodana,
a royal sage named Cāṇakya, enjoyed this earth.
